Nine standards for tooth protection

9 standards are highly recommended to our dental lab technicians and outsourcing partner:

1. The appearance standard of a high-quality toothbrush: The overall appearance of a high-quality toothbrush: the brush head is short and narrow, the handle is flat and straight, and the brush surface is flat and even. Don't use plate-shaped large-head toothbrushes at a low price. Some plate-shaped toothbrushes on the market, that is, with large and wide brush heads, full and dense bristles, and small tufts of bristles, are generally cheaper. Using this method of brushing is bound to cause certain damage to the teeth and gums, such as wedge-shaped defects of the teeth, atrophy of the gums, exposure of the roots, and widening of the interdental space. In addition, the plate-shaped toothbrush cannot brush the back teeth due to its large head. After a long time, the food residues remaining in the back of the mouth will be fermented and decayed under the action of bacteria, and then the teeth will be damaged. Because tooth damage is a slow process and the damage cannot be seen immediately, some people still think that using a large toothbrush saves trouble and time, but they do not know the damage caused by a long time.

2. The standard for choosing good toothpaste: First, the consistency should be appropriate, squeezed out of the tube into a strip, which can cover the teeth without splashing. The second is the moderate friction, which must have a good cleaning effect, but not damage the tooth enamel. The third is that the paste is stable. During the storage period, the paste does not emit water or hard, and the pH is stable. Fourth, the drug toothpaste should maintain its efficacy during the validity period. Fifth, the paste should be smooth and beautiful without bubbles. Sixth, there should be proper foam during the brushing process, so that the food debris can be easily eliminated. Seventh, the fragrance and taste should be suitable.

3. Requirements for toothbrush bristles: good surface; moderate thickness, the grinding surface of the head is smooth.

4. Correct method of brushing teeth: we must not only develop good brushing habits, but also pay attention to the method of brushing teeth. If the brushing method is wrong, it can also cause malpractices. The most common damage is tooth surface wear and gum recession. Whether people can master the brushing method well depends largely on the flexibility of their hands. Although everyone's brushing gestures are clumsy, but as long as they are fully induced, most people can effectively use a toothbrush to clean their mouth. Children's movements are relatively slow and lack patience, and cannot cope with complex brushing skills. They should be taught to use simpler brushing methods. As for the disabled, you may need to use a toothbrush with a modified handle design for easy gripping, or use an electric toothbrush.

5. How to test the effect of brushing: From a preventive point of view, removing plaque is the focus of oral hygiene. Because dental plaque is one of the common factors of dental caries and periodontal diseases, if the dental plaque is removed, the prevention of dental plaque and periodontal diseases will be solved; at the same time, the foundation of dental calculus will be lost. . The standard for checking the effect of brushing is to see whether the plaque has been completely removed.

6. Scraping tongue coating to prevent gastritis when brushing teeth: According to statistics at home and abroad, the infection rate of Helicobacter pylori in the population is roughly 50%. This microorganism is the pathogenic factor of chronic gastritis and peptic ulcer, and it is in a family. There is a tendency to infect each other. People with chronic gastritis should pay more attention to oral hygiene. Scraping the tongue when brushing their teeth every morning is good for people and themselves.

7. It is best to change your toothbrush after catching a cold: some people suffer from a cold or upper respiratory tract infection, but they still continue after treatment. In addition to their poor resistance, it may also be related to the toothbrush they use. If you don’t change your toothbrush, the cold will be harder to heal or recur. Therefore, the toothbrush should be placed in a ventilated and dry place. If you have had a cold, it is best to soak the toothbrush in disinfectant or replace it with a new toothbrush. In addition, it is best not to put multiple toothbrushes of family members together, but to place multiple toothbrushes, which is more conducive to the prevention and control of infectious diseases.

8. Ten minutes after a meal is the best time for brushing your teeth: Generally speaking, 10 minutes after eating food is a critical period for dental care, because the pH value in the mouth drops from 6.8 to 4.5 at this time, and the acidity reaches its peak. Clean the teeth immediately, these acidic substances will erode the enamel on the surface of the teeth, causing decalcification and causing tooth decay.

9. Improper brushing would get dental fluorosis: Although fluoride toothpaste can effectively prevent dental caries, it also has side effects. If used improperly, it is easy to cause dental fluorosis. The boundary between the anti-caries effect of fluoride and its toxicity is very small. Excessive intake of fluoride can cause some spots on the teeth, which is dental fluorosis. In severe cases, the teeth can turn yellow, rough on the surface, and easily damaged. Many Chinese and foreign scholars have discovered through scientific research that while dental caries are decreasing, the number of children suffering from dental fluorosis is increasing. The reason is that for children whose swallowing control ability is not perfect, swallowing fluoride toothpaste by mistake will increase the intake of fluoride, and excessive fluoride can easily lead to dental fluorosis. Therefore, for the use of fluoride toothpaste, you should have a correct understanding and master the correct method.
